DAY 1: ZURICH
Flight or train to Zurich on request.
Individual arrival in Zurich. Check into your hotel near the station.
Make the most of your winter break by stopping off in this beautiful medieval city. Discover the old quarters and, from the Lindenhof esplanade, enjoy the superb view of the snow-capped mountains and the partly frozen lake. Visit Zurich's main churches: St Peter's, whose sundial is one of the largest in Europe, and Fraümunster, illuminated by Marc Chagall's stained glass windows.
If you're looking for a bit of warmth, visit some of the museums. Entrance to the Villa Patumbah, Kulturama / Museum of Man and the Haus Konstruktiv Museum are included in your package.

DAY 2: ZURICH - CHUR
The second stop on your panoramic winter train ride in Switzerland is Chur, the oldest city in Switzerland.
The journey from Zurich station takes just 1,30 hours and you'll be immersed in the history of this small city (population 33,000), which dates back 5,000 years. You'll discover its magnificent three-aisled cathedral.
The city is packed with museums (tickets included), the ice rink in front of the Quaderschulhaus school is one of the most pleasant in Switzerland, and the Christmas market (open from late November to late December), is charming. Here you can enjoy traditional barley soup, local sausages and mulled wine.

DAY 3: COIRE - POSCHIAVO (BERNINA EXPRESS train)
Early in the morning your visit to Switzerland in winter continues on board Switzerland's most popular train: the Bernina Express.
Early departure from Chur station. A journey through icy landscapes. Enjoy fascinating views of Europe's most beautiful snow-covered peaks: the Morteratsch and the Vadret da Palü Glacier come into view in all their white majesty.
Arrive in Poschiavo, in the middle of the Alps, around midday. This small town with its Mediterranean climate is one of Switzerland's most beautiful villages. Stroll through its narrow streets and charming squares and discover its art museum, Museo Casa Console.

DAY 4: POSCHIAVO - SAINT-MORITZ
Leave Poschiavo in Italian-speaking Switzerland by scheduled train (1h35) to reach the town of Saint-Moritz, the famous Swiss ski resort. Make sure you're well equipped and, if you feel like it, set off on a hiking trail to admire the view of Lake St. Moritz and enjoy the mild Engadine sunshine in the heart of winter.

DAY 5: SAINT-MORITZ - ZURICH (GLACIER EXPRESS train + regular train)
It would be a mistake to visit Switzerland in winter without taking the famous Glacier Express.
Depart in the morning on board the "world's slowest express".
Through the panoramic windows of Switzerland's best-known train, the Alpine landscape opens up before you. Then the high mountains give way to the Swiss valleys dotted with often frozen lakes. Well rested after your 6-hour journey on this magnificent train, you arrive in Brig.
Leave the Glacier Express and take the regular train to Zurich: this is the end of your Swiss train journey.
