The route between Ontario and Quebec is perfect for a first train trip to Canada. You combine a visit to the historic and dynamic cities of Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal and Quebec with a trip to the wild beauty of Eastern Canada, including a day at Niagara Falls and a cruise in the Thousand Islands Archipelago, with most of your travel by train in Canada.
DAY 1: TORONTO
Flight to Toronto on request.
Individual arrival at Toronto Pearson International Airport.
The Express train will take you to Ontario's vibrant capital in 30 minutes.
Check-in at the hotel and afternoon at leisure. You begin exploring the central district of Toronto.

DAY 2: TORONTO
Day at leisure for personal discovery.
You can start your visit with the CN Tower, the symbol of the city, offering a splendid panorama of the city from its 533-metre height. If you feel like it, you can go bargain hunting in Kensington Market, a cosmopolitan and bohemian district, then have lunch in the historic Distillery district. Entirely pedestrianised, it is packed with Victorian architecture.
Finish the day on the Toronto Islands, with their beautiful views of Lake Ontario and the Skyline.

DAY 3: NIAGARA FALLS (Boat trip)
Early morning group departure for Niagara Falls, marking the border between Canada and the United States. Among the attractions on offer on the Canadian side is a not-to-be-missed excursion aboard the "Maid of the Mist" boat, which gets as close as possible to the majestic Horseshoe Falls (mackintoshes provided!).
Lunch at Niagara Falls.
You then continue on to the historic town of Niagara-on-the-Lake, where the river empties into Lake Ontario. The route follows the magnificent Niagara Parkway, which winds its way along the Niagara Gorge.
Return to Toronto in the evening. Tour duration: approximately 8 hours.

DAY 4: TORONTO - KINGSTON (Train + Mini - Cruise)
Join Union Station for the first leg of your Canadian rail sightseeing tour. Take the Via Rail train to Kingston for a 2.30 hours journey. Meals are included on board (breakfast or lunch depending on timetable).
On arrival, you will be taken to your hotel in the city centre of Kingston (free transfer)
You will then set off on a cruise (1 hour) on the St. Lawrence to discover the 1000 Islands region. This archipelago is actually made up of 1,865 islands dotted along the St. Lawrence River. To qualify as an island, a parcel of land must be above water level 365 days a year, shelter at least two trees or shrubs and have a minimum surface area of 2m².

DAY 5: KINGSTON - OTTAWA (Train)
Your sightseeing trip by train in Canada continues today with an early departure from Kingston to the country's capital.
Arrive in Ottawa, check into your hotel (free transfer) in the city centre of Ottawa and begin your day of discovery.
Visit Parliament Hill, with its buildings housing the seat of Canada's federal government. Don't miss the Rideau Canal, lined with footpaths and cycle paths: its canal system is the oldest still in operation in North America.
Discover the Byward Market, one of Canada's oldest farmers' markets. And don't forget the museums, especially the Canadian Museum of Civilization, which boasts the largest indoor collection of totem poles.

DAY 6: OTTAWA - MONTREAL (Train)
In the early morning, you continue your train journey in Canada by boarding the Ottawa - Montreal. Once again, breakfast is included on board. Journey time: approximately 2 hours.
You reach your hotel by bus or on foot from Montreal's Central Station and discover the city of Montreal at your leisure. Founded in 1642, it is a city of contrasts with a rich cultural heritage. It is also the second-largest French-speaking city in the world.

DAY 7: MONTREAL (Train)
Day at leisure to continue your visit.
You can stroll through the streets of Old Montreal, along the Old Port, towards Place Jacques-Cartier, the heart of the old city. Visit the underground city, the largest in the world, and admire the panoramic view of Montreal and the St Lawrence River from the Kondiaronk belvedere in Mount Royal Park. And don't forget the many museums and religious buildings.

DAY 8: MONTREAL - QUEBEC (Train)
Your sightseeing trip by train in Canada ends with the journey between Montreal and Quebec City.
Arrival in Quebec City is scheduled for shortly after 12 noon. Check into your hotel, located in the city centre, and visit the city. Québec City, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

DAY 9: QUEBEC CITY
Personal discovery of Quebec City, the only fortified city in North America and one of its oldest colonies.
The old town, with its cobbled streets, staircases and mansard-roofed houses, is a veritable open-air museum and a particularly pleasant place to stroll. The Notre-Dame-du-Québec basilica, Place Royale and a walk along the ramparts are not to be missed. The Dufferin Terrace in the upper town offers a breathtaking view of the St Lawrence.
The Château Frontenac, now a luxury hotel, dominates the city with its incredible architecture. Don't hesitate to enter the lobby of this building, built in 1893 in the Chateau style (!) to learn about its importance in the history of Quebec City.
Finish the day on the Plains of Abraham, where free concerts are held during the summer.

DAY 10: QUEBEC CITY - RETURN FLIGHT
Last day of your sightseeing trip by train in Canada. Take the opportunity to take a cruise on the Ile d'Orléans.
Return flight in the evening, on request.
