Spanish Metre Gauge

Spanish Metre Gauge

A unique journey by special metre-gauge trains. We are chartering the "Expreso de la Robla" (sleeping berths and saloon cars) and " Tren Historico" consists for a comfortable voyage over the FEVE narrow-gauge network of Northern Spain. We will also travel with the Euskotren services between Hendaye and San Sebastian ("El Topo") and between San Sebastian and Bilbao as well as the Bilbao tramway and the "Cercanias" local network.

Introduction

This 7 day trip, fully inclusive, is especially designed to offer as much to the railfan as to the less rail-orientated traveller ; whilst one sub-group has interesting insights into the operations and equipment of the rail network covered, the other sub group takes part in guided excursions and visits of general interest, ensuring an interesting time is had by all. And of course everybody benefits from the comfort of the chartered sleeper train, the delicious meals and the services of an English-speaking tour manager.

We are organising this tour in partnership with  the French railfan association "FACS" - the "Fédération des Amis des Chemin de Fer Sécondaires" and are pleased to be able to offer this unique opportunity to a wider public. Your tour price includes a mandatory and modest 2011 membership of the association.
