Day 1
Individual arrivals in León. Welcome by the staff of the "El Transcantabrico" and guided tour of the town followed by lunch. During the afternoon departure for Cistierna and guided tour of the Steel Works Museum in Sabero. Dinner on board and first night on board in your wood-panelled sleeping berth comprising double-bed, minibar, wardrobe and ensuite shower and WC.

Day 2
After breakfast the train heads eastwards towards Guardo and Mataporquera. En route, excursion to Villalcázar de Sirgan, Carrión de los Condes and Frómista. Lunch in Villalcázar. After lunch continuation northeastwards towards the coast and the tidal rivers. Dinner and overnight in Villasana de Mena.

Day 3
For this day on board, the train enters the heart of the Basque country and reaches the exciting city of Bilbao. Numerous visits rythm the day, including the Old Town, the Guggenheim Museum and the Portugalete revolving bridge. During the afternoon the train continues to Santander stopping en route for an excursion to Galdames and the biggest collection of Rolls Royces in the world... Dinner and overnight in the delightful seaside resort of Santander.

Day 4
Today the luxury train heads westwards, leaving the coast via Cabézon de la Sal. From here guests enjoy and excursion to the town of Santillana del Mar, with ample time to admire the Merio and Don Boria towers and the Santa Juliana church. This stop is followed by a guided visit to the Neo Cave of the Altimara Museum, where cave paintings dating from over 14,000 years ago have been reproduced. After lunch in Santillana, the train continues to Llanes. Dinner and overnight on board in Llanes.

Day5
Whilst breakfast is being served, the train heads westwards to Arrondias, departure point for an excursion to the Picos de Europa National Park. During the excursion guests discover the beautiful Lake Enol, the Covadonga Sanctuary (battleplace of the "Reconquista" in 722 a.d.) and the medieval town of Cangas de Onis. Lunch in Cangas de Onis. Towards days end, the train continues to Gijón, the second most important town of the Asturias. Dinner and overnight on board in Gijón.

Day 6
This morning the train will head towards the hinterland of the Asturias and the capital of the Principality, Oviedo. After a guided tour during which you will be able to admire Oviedo's pre-roman art and its magnificent Cathedral, lunch is taken. During the afternoon the train continues its journey westwards towards the coast and the "White City" of the Green Coast, Luarca. Dinner and overnight on board in Luarca.

Day 7
Soon after breakfast the train heads for Galicia, following the northern coast of the Asturias. The first stop in Galicia is the seaside town of Ribadeo where the river Eo flows into the sea. A guided tour of the town is followed by lunch before the train leaves for Viveiro. In Viveiro a guided tour of the town and its ramparts precedes dinner and a night on board the train.

Day 8
For this final day of the railcruise, the train heads along the last stretch of the narrow-gauge line as far as Ferrol. A luxury motor coach ensures a comfortable transfer to the journey's ultimate destination : Santiago de Compostela.After visiting the city and its highlights - the Cathedral, Obraidoro Square, Platerias... the journey ends with individual transfers for the return journey home.
