Day 1
Individual arrivals in Santiago de Compostella. Welcome by the staff of the "El Transcantabrico" and guided tour of the town followed by lunch. During the afternoon transfer by luxury motor coach to Ferrol where the special luxury train awaits its guests. Departure for the fortified town of Viveiro and guided tour of the town.Dinner on board and first night on board in your wood-panelled sleeping berth comprising double-bed, minibar, wardrobe and ensuite shower and WC.

Day 2
After a buffet breakfast served on board, the train leaves for the seaside town of Riveiro, reached during the morning. Here you have a a guided tour followed by lunch. During the afternoon the train leaves Riveiro for Luarca, the "White Town" on the Green Coast.The train stays in Luarca overnight whilst dinner is served and whilst you sleep comfortably on board.

Day 3
This morning the train will head towards the hinterland of the Asturias and the capital of the Principality, Oviedo. After a guided tour during which you will be able to admire Oviedo's pre-roman art and its magnificent Cathedral, lunch is taken. During the afternoon the train continues its journey eastwards towards Gijón, the second most imortant town of the region. Dinner and overnight on board in Gijón.

Day 4
For this fourth day of the railcruise, the train leaves the Cantabrian coast and heads eastwards to Arrondias, departure point for an excursion to the Picos de Europa National Park. During the excursion guests discover the beautiful Lake Enol, the Covadonga Sanctuary (battleplace of the "Reconquista" in 722 a.d.) and the medieval town of Cangas de Onis. Lunch in Cangas de Onis. Towards days end, the train heads towards Ribadesella and finally Llanes where it stays overnight. Dinner on board.

Day5
Today the luxury train heads eastwards via Cabézon de la Sal to the medieval town of Santillana del Mar, where guests have time to admire the Merio and Don Boria towers and the Santa Juliana church. This stop is followed by a guided visit to the Neo Cave of the Altimara Museum, where cave paintings dating from over 14,000 years ago have been reproduced. After lunch in Santillana, the train continues to Santander, a delightful and aristocratic seaside resort. Dinner and overnight on board in Santander.

Day 6
For the penultimate full day on board, the train enters the Basque country and reaches the exciting city of Bilbao. Numerous visits rythm the day, including the Old Town, the Guggenheim Museum and the Portugalete revolving bridge. During the afternoon the train continues to Balsameda with an excursion to Galdames and the biggest collection of Rolls Royces in the world...Dinner and overnight in Villasana de Mena.

Day 7
For the final full day on board,the train turns southeastwards towards the mountains and Mataporquera and the Castillan Canal. Excursion to Villalcázar de Sirgan, Carrión de los Condes and Frómista. Lunch in Villalcázar followed by a guided visit of the Steel Works Museum in Sabero. At afternoon's end, the train continues to Cistierna. Dinner and overnight in Cistierna.

On arrival in León, after visiting the city and its highlights, the journey ends with individual transfers for the return journey home.
