Travel the «old way» with a leisurely overnight sleeper train to the Italian capital and then sample one of Italy's most modern high-speed trains for your onward connection to Naples. A perfect combination saving time and hôtel accommodation during your journey.
Introduction
You'll discover a fascinating regional capital, Naples, a little off the beaten tourist track, with many hidden treasures, before continuing on to the charming Amalfan coast town of Sorrento. Here an excursion to Capri is of course possible and you must taste the famous «Limoncello» liqueur originating from the area. Archeological treasures, historical monuments and world-renowned coastline scenery around the Bay of Naples will ensure you have a memorable holiday.

Details
1st day
After travelling from your homeward point of departure to Paris, the "Palatino" night express is awaiting in the Parisian terminus of Gare de Bercy.
Depending on your arrival time, the "Grand Voyageur" lounge is at your disposal before departure of the train. Shortly before 7pm, installation in your private air-conditioned sleeping compartment, comprising two bunk berths with sheets and blankets, washbasin and hangars. A dining car is available for an evening meal. Night on board train.
2nd day
After breakfast served in your compartment by the attendant, arrival at Rome's Stazione Termini in the morning.You'll have time for a real italian «espresso» coffee before your high-speed train draws into the station for the onward connection to Naples. Just one hour later, you'll be in the centre of Naples and be able to collect your regional travel card in the station before going to your nearby 3*** hôtel. After leaving your luggage (rooms are available in the afternoon) the day is yours to discover this fascinating city – sights, monuments and museums abound! First of three nights in Naples.
3rd day
After breakfast you have the whole day to enjoy in Naples: don't hesitate to taste the «Margherita», Queen of napolitan pizzas..
Second night in Venice.
4th day
Make the most of your final day and, if you hadn't done so already, try and visit the amazing Roman ruins of Herculanem, less well-known than Pompei but arguably more interesting. A local train whisks you there in 15 minutes from the centre of Naples.Third and final night in Naples.
5th day
After breakfast, the morning is free before you make your to way the station to take a local train on the metre-gauge «Circumvesuviana» railway. The train snakes its way through the suburbs of Naples and the volcanic scenery of Mount Vesuvius, before bringing you to the its terminus on the Amalfan coast. Upon arrival, installation in your comfortable 3*** hôtel close to station and the town centre. Your afternoon is free to the town and enjoy the atmosphere of its narrow streets and boutiques. First of three nights in Sorrento.
6th day
After breakfast you have the whole day free to enjoy in Sorrento – stroll through the town, descend to the beaches, walk along the promontory, admire the views or just take in th sun and the relaxed atmosphere. Second night in Sorrento.
7th day
For this whole day at leisure, why not visit the nearby and world-renowned island of Capri? Fast ferries link the island to Sorrento several times a day. Alternatively you could visit Amalfi, another gem easily reached by coach in just 90 minutes. Third and final night in Sorrento.
8th day
After breakfast and check-out (before 11am) you have a full morning to enjoy in Sorrento before making your way to the nearby harbour for the fast ferry crossing to Naples, across the Bay of Naples. Upon arrival you have direct bus or tram connections to the central station, where the high-speed train will take you to Rome. In Rome you'll find your evening express waiting to take you back to Paris, once again comfortably installed in your private sleeping compartment.
9th day
After breakfast served in your compartment, the train draws into the Gare de Bercy in Paris at 9am, leaving you plenty of time for homeward connections on to London, Brussels, Amsterdam etc.

7 breakfasts
2 nights in a private sleeping compartment on board the Paris-Venice «Stendahl» overnight sleeper train. Each compartment has two bunk beds with pillow cases, sheets and blankets, washbasin and coat hangars.
Reserved seats on board the high-speed train between Rome and Naples (2nd Class).
